Portsmouth has been the focus of the national commemorations - marking 75 years on from D-Day. The Queen, Donald Trump and other heads of state, including Theresa May were at Southsea Common nearby for the ceremony - paying tribute to the extraordinary bravery and achievements of our D-Day veterans.

Part one of our special D-Day programme:

More than 60,000 people came to Portsmouth to witness the historic event - which has not been without controversy, with President Trump's decision to attend. Roads were closed off and a steel fence was put up around the ceremonial area.

Sangeeta visited Pegasus Bridge with a group of veterans who took part in the glider operation.
