Communities come together to help vulnerable people

In a special series this week ITV regional news is looking at how communities are coming together to help some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

We have already met carers opening up their own homes to look after those with learning difficulties and disabilities - now we are putting the spotlight on how the elderly and infirm can get a bit of extra company and help if they have a spare room.

Our social affairs correspondent Christine Alsford has been finding out how it works for one homeowner in Kent for the second report in our series, Help on Hand.
