Officer cadets at Sandhurst have marked a significant milestone in their military careers.

Almost 200 experienced the pomp and ceremony of the Sovereign's Parade.

Many of them will now go onto become officers in the British Army.

After a year of intense training, they have one more important duty - to embrace the Sovereign's Parade with poise and precision.

The ceremony marks an important point in their military careers, as they go from officer cadets to fully fledged Army officers.

More than 600 officer cadets were at the ceremony in total.

A significant number have now completed their training at Sandhurst, with 165 from the UK and 20 from overseas ready for the next phase of their military careers.

Overseeing the proceedings was the Chief of Staff of the US Army, General Mark A Milley, representing the Queen.

America and the UK standing side by side once again - with some challenging times ahead.

They will be - particularly after the specialist training they've just completed.

Plenty of preparation has gone into that and this parade which provides the final flourish of a landmark year.

A special moment for those graduating from Sandhurst and for their families, before the hard work starts again as Army officers.
