Homeless man's makeshift shelter under threat in Folkestone

An eviction notice has been served on the makeshift structure

The council in Folkestone is threatening to pull down a makeshift shelter made by a homeless man on Mermaid beach.

The structure has been up for a fortnight, but the authority has now issued a warning notice.

Their action has prompted a backlash on social media from people who think the council should be offering a helping hand rather than a heavy hand.

Tony Green reports.

Tony spoke to Cathy White who wants the structure, and its inhabitant, left alone.
