Man injured and child threatened during assault in Kent
Kent Police are hunting for a man after a young child was threatened with a weapon at a playground in Barham.
The child's father was injured as he tried to intervene.
The incident - which happened at a playground in Brickfield Road on Saturday afternoon - is thought to have involved a knife.
The child's mother has posted on Facebook to warn other parents after the incident - saying a young man "tried to kill" her five year old son while he was out with his dad, who sustained injuries.
Kent police say officers attended the scene at around 4.30pm and searched the area but the suspect had left prior to their arrival.
He is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, of proportionate build, with dark close-cropped hair.
He was wearing a grey hooded top, dark-coloured jogging bottoms and was carrying a mobile phone in a bright red case.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury. The child was unhurt.
