Honda workers plan march through Swindon to save plant
Thousands of people are being urged to take part in a march in the hope of persuading Honda not to close its Swindon car plant.
3,500 jobs are at risk after Honda announced plans to close the plant and build their new electric models in North America and Asia, where they have a larger customer base.
The union, Unite, which represents workers says the closure puts at risk 12,000 jobs throughout the region and the wider supply chain.
Supporters will gather at the Swindon Town FC coach park at 11am on Saturday 30th March and march to GWR Park on Faringdon Road.
More than 15,000 people signed the #SaveHondaSwindon petition in one weekend. Earlier this month, Honda workers travelled to Westminster to lobby politicians and meet MPs.
