Police searching for missing student find a body in lake
Detectives searching for a missing student from the University of Reading say that they have found an unidentified body in a lake on campus.
Daniel Williams, aged 19, was last seen at midnight on the morning of Thursday 31st January.
Thames Valley Police have been searching for him ever since, with house-to-house enquiries, countryside searches and checks of buildings.
Police described his disappearance as "out of character".
Although the body has not been formally identified, officers have told Daniel's family about the discovery.
The Department of Computer Science and Chaplaincy held a vigil on Monday afternoon, inviting students and colleagues to gather in solidarity at the Whiteknights campus - hoping for Daniel Williams’ safe return.
Thames Valley Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
