Neighbours fundraise for family of a woman who died after house fire

Friends and neighbours of a woman who died, after a house fire in West Malling, have been raising money to support the family.

The woman in her sixties was rescued from the house on Spitfire Road in Kings Hill on Saturday but later died in hospital.

A child was treated for a leg injury and smoke inhalation.

A 51-year-old man remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Kent Police said it's referred the case to the 'Independent Office for Police Conduct' because of prior police contact with the arrested man.
