Doctors can prescribe medicinal cannabis from midnight
A vast medical cannabis-growing operation in Kent - believed to be the biggest of its kind in the world - has welcomed a controversial change in the law that means from tomorrow doctors will be able to prescribe the drug for the first time.
GW Pharmaceuticals say it's a legal breakthrough that unlocks an 'exciting future' for the drug it describes as a medicinal 'treasure trove'.
The change in the law follows appeals to the Home Secretary by people with severe multiple sclerosis - and by a mother from Kent who believes cannabis oil could transform the life of her epileptic daughter.
