The 4.6 metre long Sowerby's beaked whale, that weighs nearly a tonne, was found at Saltdean beach on Friday night after it's thought it became stranded.

The species is rare and usually found in deep water in the North Atlantic and Baltic Sea.

Coastguards have asked people to stay away from the whale and not touch it.

Experts say it will now be taken to the Natural History Museum for a postmortem.
