Staff at South Western Railway (SWR) will stage a five-day walkout over the continuing dispute over the role of guards.

Workers from the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union will strike from Tuesday until Sunday.

This will be the fourth time the rail company has taken action this year, with more dates scheduled for November.

SWR has said, strike action will not include the Island Line, which operates on the Isle of Wight, and has promised to do everything it can to minimise the effect to passengers.

Plans to ensure it will run as full a timetable as possible on these days are being put together, however, some routes will not have a train service or a replacement bus service.

More details on rail journeys this week can be found on theSWR website.
