Noise warning as Didcot Power Station demolition continues

Residents are being warned to expect noise as work continues to demolish part of the Didcot Power Station.

Those nearby could hear up to five 'audible popping sounds'.

Owner RWE says the noises are part of onsite tests being carried out while the site is cleared of smaller buildings.

The towers and chimney will then be blown up in a controlled explosion next year.

It comes two years after four workers at the power station were killed when the disused boiler house collapsed.

A multi million pound investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
