Cleft palate surgery fundraiser nominated for Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year Award
West nominee
Our next nominee for the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Award Fundraiser of the Year Award is Nathan Abbott.
As a child Nathan from Littlehampton in West Sussex was bullied incessantly because of his cleft palate, his solace was swimming.
When he realised others couldn't have corrective surgery, he vowed to put that right.
Through long-distance swims for charity Nathan has raised thousands to put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children worldwide.
