A driver from Kent had his car impounded and had to pay over £300 after a breakdown recovery service failed to pick up his stranded car.

Luke Boniface said he had been waiting for the RAC for five hours when he was told they could not reach him and to call the police for help instead.

When police arrived on the scene, they impounded his car and took it away, leaving Luke having to pay over £300 to get it back.

At first, the RAC refused to pay the bill until ITV News Meridian got involved.
