700,000 suffer from aircraft noise around Heathrow Airport
New figures reveal more than 700,000 people suffer noise from aircraft taking off or landing at Heathrow Airport.
Many of those affected live in Berkshire, parts of Surrey, Buckinghamshire and south Oxfordshire.
Campaign groups say more must be done to improve the situation including fewer night flights and planes taking off and landing at steeper angles to reduce noise.
They say the measures are needed whether or not a third runway is built.
In a statement Heathrow says they have reduced the percentage of population affected by aircraft noise significantly over the last 30 years and they are continuing to find ways of making the airport quieter.
