'Spirit of the South' celebrates Nothe Fort in Weymouth
It's time for the next instalment in our series 'Spirit of the South' - celebrating the hidden treasures of our region.
We are off to Nothe Fort in Weymouth - built as a defence against enemy attack. But, in almost 150 years, it hardly saw any action.
For a long time the fort lay empty and abandoned. But now, open to the public, it's famous for ghosts and a fleet of ships made out of matchsticks. Richard Jones reports.
