Officers cleared of gross misconduct over epileptic's death
Three Sussex Police officers have been found not guilty of gross misconduct over the way they restrained an epileptic man in Sussex.
Duncan Tomlin was pepper-sprayed, handcuffed and kept face down in a police van until he lost consciousness. The 32-year-old died in hospital two days later - partly as a result of asphyxia.
A sergeant and two constables claimed the force they used on Mr Tomlin was necessary to restrain him after he punched an officer. Malcolm Shaw has been following the hearing and sent this report.
