Reading manager Paul Clement says his side are "raring to go" ahead of the first match of the new Championship season against Derby on Friday.

It sees Clement go up against the club he managed for eight months up until February 2016, and face new Rams boss Frank Lampard in his first league match at the helm.

Clement replaced Jaap Stam in March, after the Dutchman was sacked, and guided the Royals to Championship safety last term.

The 46 year old has since reshaped his squad with the likes of John O'Shea, David Meyler, Marc McNulty and Sam Baldock coming in, but he admits he'd like two more additions with the focus being on attacking options.

Clement may not be setting any targets for the new season but his Icelandic striker, Jón Daði Böðvarsson, is aiming for the play-offs.

He also said he has been impressed by the increased experience that has been added to the squad over the summer.
