Plummeting river levels due to hot weather sparks fish rescue

One consequence of this ongoing heatwave is the threat to fish stocks in some of our rivers. Dozens of Environment Agency staff are currently in the process of moving thousands of fish from the River Tarrant in Dorset - because in recent weeks the water level has dropped so dramatically.
