A family home has been destroyed by a fire that caused the roof of the property to collapse.

Fire crews from Berkshire and Hampshire were called to the property above a Co-op store on Clayhill Road in Burghfield Common at around 8pm on Saturday evening.

Firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading to two neighbouring flats. However, the supermarket below has suffered extensive water damage. Crews remain at the scene today.

It's believed a family of four lived in the property and a Just Giving page, set-up to raise money for them, raised more than £1,300 in less than 24 hours.
