Caleb Warren broke into the home of Natalie Elbow while she was at Julia's House hospice in Poole, saying a final goodbye to daughter Daisy who'd just died of cancer.

He broke into her home in Bournemouth, Dorset, last November and stole several items including a laptop Daisy had used to store hundreds of photos on.

After an impassioned plea by Mrs Elbow for its return went viral on social media, the Apple MacBook Air laptop was recovered.

Warren, 32, of Poole pleaded guilty to burglary stealing the laptop an Xbox One, Pandora earrings and cash.

He was told to complete a 30-day rehabilitation order and pay £440 compensation. He was also given a two-year community order and told if he breaches it, he faces a very real chance of prison.
