Temperatures have soared across the South East, peaking at 27 Celsius in Gravesend.

Kent and Sussex have enjoyed the hottest April day for 69 years.

Just one month ago the south was blanketed in snow.

Now it is all about sand, sea and sun cream.

Thursday was officially the hottest April day since 1949.

But with the warm weather comes safety warnings.
