Beech Lodge Care Home: potential cover up into residents care exposed

An independent investigation into how two care home residents came to be injured on the same day, has concluded that their may have been a cover up into what happened.

The report released today (17/04) after the incidents at Beech Lodge in Horsham, also attacks a failure to gather evidence and a failure to involve the police.

Beech Lodge is one of nine homes run by Sussex Health Care where police are investigating a total of 13 deaths and 30 cases of suspected neglect.

The two men who suffered the severe injuries both needed full time care, as each had a mental age of only six months.

Watch the report by John Ryall:

Martyn Lewis and Mark Bates were at West Sussex County Council to hear the findings of the investigation into what happened to their brother and son 3 years ago.

The independent report by the West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board attacks the organisations involved for failing to gather evidence properly, for failing to involve the police - and its says it's 'impossible to rebut' suspicions of a cover-up.
