Around 100 drivers are stranded in their vehicles on the A35

Dorset Police have declared a major incident in the county after the worst cold snap in 10 years brought heavy snowfall to the region.

Around 100 drivers are stranded in their vehicles on the A35.

The Puddletown bypass between Bare Regis to Dorchester has been closed.

Meanwhile, the A31 in the New Forest is also gridlocked and the army have been called in to help those who are stuck.

Andrew Powell has been stuck there since 4pm on Thursday.

The slip road linking the M27 with the M3 has been closed because of heavy snow and more bad weather is expected overnight.
