Two grandads to row 3,000 miles across Atlantic for charity

The pair have been friends for 40 years

Two grandads will be the oldest ever pair to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic.

Peter Ketley from Portsmouth and Neil Young are hoping to raise £250,000 for charity.

As former paratroopers they chose to support, among others, the Royal British Legion Industries near Maidstone which gives employment to ex-forces personnel.

The pair, who have been friends for 40 years, have a combined age of 123.

The 'Grandads of the Atlantic' will begin their nautical challenge in December.

When they race in the Atlantic Challenge they will take enough supplies to last at least 70 days at sea and will undertake any repairs on their own.
