A new knitting group in Deal could help tackle anxiety problems and people who may be socially isolated.

A stay at home mum has set up a weekly meet for people who like to knit, sew and crochet after she found it helped with her own anxiety.

Sara - who's been knitting since she was six years old, set up the project after she began to suffer with anxiety herself

The group welcomes everyone from beginner to seasoned professional

Research has shown activities like knitting can have therapupic benefits and alleviate the symptoms of anxiety or depression.

In future, Sara hopes to take the project into care homes where many more people can reap the benefits of the craft.
