Cowes floating bridge out of action again

Isle of Wight's Floating Bridge has been suspended because of a technical fault.

The £3m vessel links East and West Cowes.

Teething problems at the end of 2017 meant the service was taken out of action for 3 months before being re-instated.

With the ferry is suspended, there's a replacement crossing for foot passengers, but drivers will have to take a 12 mile de-tour around the island.

Isle of Wight Council, who run the crossing, say they hope to reopen the link on Monday.
