Two women killed in crash involving car and police vehicle in Calcot

Two women, aged 87 and 88, have died in a crash involving a car and police vehicle in Calcot.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) say the police vehicle was an unmarked 4x4 dog unit responding to an emergency call.

The IOPC added it had flashing blue lights on but no siren.

It happened on the A4 Bath Road just before 4pm on Tuesday 23rd January.

The driver and the passenger of the car died.

The incident has been referred to the IOPC for investigation.

The road was closed for several hours between the junction of Old Bath Road and Mill Lane.

The police, fire and ambulance service were all in attendance
