11 year old girl seriously injured in crash on busy Portslade road
A young girl has been seriously injured in a collision on a busy road in Sussex.
At 1.45pm the 11-year-old local girl pedestrian was hit by a car in Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, near the Mayberry Garden Centre.
The girl sustained serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to St Georges Hospital in south London.
The 32-year-old Ditchling woman who was driving the car, a BMW 116 saloon, was unhurt but was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for shock.
Nobody else was reported to have been injured in the incident.
It's been a tragic 24 hours on the county's roads. Two pedestrians were killed near Ringmer on Saturday evening, and two people died in a collision on the A267 near Heathfield a few hours later.
Police have said their thoughts are with their families.
