Three year old girl dies in hospital after car accident in Dorset

A three-year-old girl who was seriously injured in a collision on the A354 in Dorset has died in hospital.

The crash between a silver Vauxhall Astra and a white transit van happened at Thickthorn Cross at 7.52am on the 24th August.

The little girl, from Shaftesbury, who was travelling in a Vauxhall Astra with her mother was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital. She died on Friday night.

Her mother who also sustained head injuries, has been released from hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 44-year-old woman from Salisbury, who was taken to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to assist with their investigation and are trying to track down people travelling in a silver Volkswagen Passat.
