Aggressive anti-social shoplifter banned from town centres
A prolific and aggressive shoplifter who terrorised shop staff and residents in Surrey has been banned from parts of Godalming and Guildford for two years.
Peter Robinson, 32, from Croft Road in Godalming was also sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for a number of shop lifting offences and driving whilst disqualified
The Anti-Social Behaviour Team, were in court to present a 200 page document of evidence on Robertson’s disruptive behaviour. This included reference to his prolific shoplifting and his tendency to threaten, intimidate and be verbally abusive to shop staff.
In granting the Criminal Behaviour Order, the court told Mr Robertson that it was not acceptable to treat his fellow citizens with such disregard.
The conditions of the CBO prohibit Robertson from the following:
Attending the area shaded in red and hatched in black (Waitrose area) on the attached map one.
Entering any shops on Godalming High Street as defined and shaded in red on the attached map one.
Attending Guildford town centre as defined on map two.
Making any noise inside his home address which could reasonably be expected to disturb others between the hours of 2200 and 0800 hours.
