Simon's Blog - Oh The Weather Outside is Frightful...

Well as Caitlin's picture proves snow can look very pretty...it's just a bit of a pain if you need to get somewhere!

Thankfully the first proper snow of the winter didn't cause too much upset and it has meant a load of cheerful wintry photos turning up in my meridianweather@itv.com inbox.

In some places there was enough snow to build an actual snowman.

Admittedly not the biggest snowman, well unless Lola in Basingstoke has got an overly large cuddly Rupert!

Laura Dean in Tonbridge was also on the case.

Who knew courgettes were the new carrots?

There was so much snow in Canterbury, that Bob Jacobs has already started the auditioning process for this years Christmas cards.

And how lucky was Karen Diton to spot this going on in her mum's garden in Crowborough.

Of course wild animals cope well in the cold, whilst domestic animals prefer to stick a coat on before going out.

Well you wouldn’t want a chilly chihuahua would you?

That’s Lucy’s dog Sandy in Basingstoke by the way.

Ben Pluck took this picture this morning, whilst crossing the bridge over the Medway by train.

Whilst Kitty Rose and Lottie in Ashford even had the sledge out today.

Nice hats too!

And whilst we're talking about outfits and that strong wind we've also had can play havoc with them, especially the ones made from feathers.

Brilliant picture from Mike Boss in Harbridge.
