Simon's Blog - An Illuminating Experience

Well there's something you don't see every day!

Although this weekend it wasn't just Corfe Castle in Dorset that was all lit up with a purple glow. The historic Norman castle was one of hundreds of UK landmarks illuminated for a campaign called Purple Lights for Pancreatic Cancer, in honour of the thousands of individulas and families affected by the condition.

Mind you, now we've less than a month to go until Christmas, the bright lights are popping up all over the place.

Here's a lovely bit of tree action from Roy Venkatesh from Basingstoke at the Westonbirt Arboretum’s Enchanted Christmas.

Meanwhile there was a big festive switch on in Windermere Crescent in Worthing.

The Mayor Sean McDonald did the honours and the Worthing Town Crier Bob Smytherman did the announcing, as Mark and Debbie Scott unveiled their annual display to raise money for Against Breast Cancer.

I suspect there will be a few more photos of fundraising festivities turning up in my meridianweather@itv.com inbox over the next couple of weeks.
