Simon's Blog - Branching Out

It's the time of the year when the trees are doing interesting things, which also includes impersonating legendary aliens.

Well both Lee and I can see ET.

So what other wooden look-a-likes have been turning up in my meridianweather@itv.com inbox.

Well Malcolm Garbutt in Waterlooville reckons this looks like a happy dog on the right.

And in other dog news and Eileen Bacon in Littlehampton found an autumnal bit of moss that looks like a poodle having a lie down.

Mandy Waite’s un-named daughter in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight came across this snapped branch which she says looks like a bird.

Whilst Howard Marsh in Maidstone spotted this dead tree in Mote Park that he thinks looks like a running stag.

And finally a joint effort from Brian Garr and his granddaughter Megan, who also live Maidstone but took the photo in the New Forest near Brockenhurst.

They said a stag but I’m thinking Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!

Only a month to go...!
