Simon's Blog - Fun With Fungus

Credit: Nick Lucas

It's the time of the year when it just keeps popping up all across the region.

And in some interesting places too.

Carol Evans in Brackley was a little surprised to find some in amongst the pebbles on her garden path.

Whilst David Critchlow in Poole sent in this photo of a garage door.

That white blob at the bottom is a bit of fungus that he says just grew one night, despite the fact that the garages are used all the time.

Olwen Shaw found this on a dog walk in Totland on the Isle of Wight.

He said it just suddenly appeared from nowhere.

And finally in another dog walking incident, these are the puff balls Ken Gest found in the woods in Snodland.

If you spot any interesting fungus, or fungus in an interesting place come to that, please send a photo to meridianweather@itv.com or you can tweet me @SimonParkinITV if you're on twitter.
