Horse rescued after leg gets trapped in transporter wheel

Firefighters freed a horse from a transporter after its hind leg was trapped between the rear wheels.

The complicated rescue took in place in Droxford in Hampshire when Spencer the horse got trapped.

Firefighters from Droxford, Lyndhurst and Overton stations were all called to assist.

Spencer's hind leg had broken through the bottom of his lorry and got trapped between the rear wheels.

Crews had to anesthetise him, remove the wheels of the lorry and then move him on a rescue glide to somewhere he could safely get to his feet.

The lucky horse is recovering having suffered no lasting damage.
