Justice for Chunky: Thousands sign petition

Chunky was found dumped in a rubbish tip in Margate Credit: RSPCA

More than 300,000 people have signed a petition calling for tougher laws for those who abuse animals after a Chihuahua was tortured and left for dead in Kent.

Chunky was attacked for hours in one of the most disturbing cases of animal abuse seen by the RSPCA.

He was taken from his garden in Margate and subjected to a terrifying ordeal, before being dumped in a rubbish tip and left for dead.

Four teenagers have been banned from keeping animals for five years in connection with the attack on Chunky.

Chunky is now back with his owners and recovering.

Hundreds of thousands of people have now signed a petition launched by Maxine Berry from Leeds.

Once 500,000 people have signed the petition, the Government has to respond.
