Met Office Warning Of Heavy Rain
Brace yourself for the arrival of ex-tropical storm Henri tonight. Whilst he's not a fierce as he sounds, it will make for a wet and windy start to Wednesday for most of us.
The Met Office have issued a warning for persistent and at times heavy rain to spread north during Wednesday, with strong and gusty winds into the bargain. Whilst the main rain should ease across the south during the morning, some heavy and thundery showers may develop into the afternoon.
Most parts of the warning area should see 15-30 mm of rain, however some places could see as much as 40-70 mm. The following thunderstorms have the potential to generate another 15-25 mm of rain in just a few hours.
So some localised flooding is possible from fast responding water courses and standing water, with the risk of travel disruption.
Obviously it's a fairly complicated situation and uncertainty in timings and areas most at risk is large. As such this warning will be updated as confidence in developments increases.
