Kent animal park welcomes rare new arrivals

They are so rare that it is estimated there are only 140 left in the wild but an animal park in Kent has welcomed two baby Eastern bongo antelope to its attraction.

The babies at Howletts, near Canterbury, are the first to be born there since 2009, and so keepers say they are delighted with the progress of the latest arrivals.

Bongo are one of the most critically endangered species of antelope in Africa, due to hunting, poaching and loss of habitat.

The pair are yet to be given names - with keepers not entirely certain about the sex of the calves.

Watch them explore their surroundings in the video below.
