Modern day 'Bonnie and Clyde' jailed for committing more than 150 burglaries in South East
A couple dubbed a modern day 'Bonnie and Clyde' after committing more than 100 burglaries across the South East have been jailed.
Police say the pair stole "strange" items including tinned mackerel, a duvet set and a dressing gown in addition to high value items.
Ovidiu-Constantin Plamada, 31, and Mariana Sandra, 43, were sentenced to a total of 12 years in jail.
A search of their home in east London by police found a treasure trove of stolen property ranging from expensive jewellery to random household items, such as one of the victim's dressing gown.
They netted a total of more than £400,000.
During their crime spree they admitted committing 179 burglaries spanning Kent, Essex and London.
The two were arrested as they drove across Dartford Bridge on 4 November 2014 and at the time of arrest were in possession of stolen items from two recent burglaries.
The pair, both Romanian nationals, were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
Plamada was sentenced to six years' imprisonment. Mariana Sandra was also sentenced to six years' imprisonment.
They were sentenced at Basildon Crown Court .
