Special funeral preparations underway after country's tallest man dies

Special preparations are underway including building an extra long coffin and finding a large burial plot after the country's former tallest man died.

Christopher Greener, who was 7ft 6ins and weighed up to 30 stone, died aged 71.

Mr Greener, from Kent, held the world record for being the tallest man in the UK for four decades.

Funeral directors are making special preparations for his burial which will be on March 1 after he died earlier this month.

These include making a specially designed longer coffin which is being built in Newcastle and using four additional pallbearers.

Directors are also looking for a double burial plot.

During his career Mr Greener played international basketball and made an appearance in David Lynch's The Elephant Man.

He was also on ITV's Superhuman: Giants on the UK.
