Businessman found dead after fall from hotel balcony
Detectives were are investigating the death of a 65-year-old British man who died in a fall from the balcony of his Spanish hotel.
Michael 'Mick' Hill, a second-hand electrical goods dealer, was found dead after he was last seen on the balcony in Benidorm, where he was on holiday.
Spanish police refused to reveal any information about his death but his son, Jonathan, aged 41 years, said he did not believe his father would have committed suicide.
"I find it extremely unbelievable that he did it to himself - he wasn't that kind of character," he said.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: "We can confirm the death of a British national in Benidorm on November 17.
"We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time."
Mr Hill, from Hawkesbury Drive, Calcot, near Reading, Berks, owned Electro electrical repairs and second-hand shop in Oxford Road, Reading, Berks, and was well-known among traders and shoppers in the area for his love of bright shirts.
His son, a personal trainer from Camberley, Surrey, said: "He was a really tough guy. He was an Oxford Roader."
He described his father as "staunchly English" with a love of Irish music and Guinness.
