It's the time of the year when trees are doing interesting things. The colours of the autumn leaves are always a pleasure to see but also as the leaves drop off you do get some quirky tree related lookalikes occurring.

Here are just a few of the many that have turned up in my meridianweather@itv.com inbox.

Let's start on the Salisbury Downs...

...where Stevie Louise Randall thought she'd spotted the Loch Ness Monster.

Deborah Conte tok this photo whilst on holiday in America...

...and you can definitely see it's a wooly mammoth.

And how about this from David Tarr in Shoreham-by-Sea...

...which he reckons looks like a horse jumping a high hurdle.

Stuart Gay from Reading spotted this one at the RSPB in Arne in Dorset…

….he’s thinking the head of a moose.

And finally a random one from John Thomson in St Mary's Bay...

...of an apple growing inside a tree!
