Thanks to the warm and sunny summer we enjoyed last year, 2013 was a bumper year for butterflies and based on the photos that have been turning up in my meridianweather@itv.com inbox this year seems to be going quite well too.

But if you fancy seeing some tropical butterflies from Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines then Blenheim Palace is the place for you. The newly renovated butterfly house is now home to dozens of exotic species, as I found out when I dropped in for a chat with Head Gardener Hilary Wood.
