Train disruption: Chiltern Railways information
Chiltern Railways have made the following announcement for the Monday commute. You can get more information from their website here
As a result of the bad weather, a 50mph speed limit will be applied to the Chiltern route from 05.30 until the winds die down. This will cause severe disruption. In addition, the high winds are likely to cause trees and branches to fall, which may cause further disruption at very short notice.
We have looked at the option of running a special timetable tomorrow morning, but the nature and location of the disruption is highly unpredictable.
We will therefore start the day running our normal timetable. However, as this timetable is planned for 100mph trains, it is inevitable that there will be very severe delays to almost all trains.
As well as trains running late, it is likely that some trains will be cancelled, especially early morning trains from Marylebone.
Up-to-date information will be available on chilternrailways.co.uk throughout the day, with live train times also available from the Chiltern Railways app. We'll also be available on Twitter @chilternrailway.
