Nominations for the ITV Local Hero Award 2013 open on Monday 10th June 2013 and close on Friday 16 August 2013 at midnight.

There is no age restriction on nominees, if the nominee is under 18 years old permission must be obtained from their parent or legal guardian before their name, address and phone number is put forward to be considered for the award.

You can nominate someone by the following means - go to www.itv.com/prideofbritain and follow the instructions to complete the online nomination form, or you can complete a nomination form available at any Lidl store or as outlined in The Daily Mirror. There is no limit on the number of nominations you may make.

Nominations for the ITV Local Hero Award 2013 may be for someone who deserves recognition for being an inspiring champion in their community, helping others or doing great work in the community.

The nominee must be an individual, and not a group of people or an organisation. The nominee may be an active volunteer or someone who is paid to do a job, e.g. an amazing professional that goes over and above their normal duties.

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel in each of the participating 12 ITV news regions. The panel will select a shortlist of up to 4 nominees from each region. Each regional finalist along with one guest will be invited to attend the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards ceremony to be held in London in October 2013 where the overall winner of the ITV Local Hero Award 2013 will be announced.

The overall winner of the ITV Local Hero Award 2013 will be determined by the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards jury.
