Snow hits the South

Snow has fallen in parts of the region, but not in great amounts.

In Kent - the beach at Broadstairs was a carpet of snow. While in Canterbury the scene was that from a Christmas card.

In Basingstoke in Hampshire there was a flurry of flakes, while at West Ilsley in Berkshire the scene was wintery. In some parts of rural Oxfordshire where snow fall was heavier, the roads proved a little tricky, with ice in some parts.

During this afternoon's rush hour, snow is expected to hit Kent.
