Halliwell jailed for life for Sian O'Callaghan murder
A taxi driver has been jailed for life today after admitting in court that he murdered a young woman he picked up moments after she left a nightclub.
Christopher Halliwell, a 48-year-old father-of-three, pleaded guilty to killing 22-year-old Sian O'Callaghan in March 2011.
Sian O'Callaghan disappeared in March last year after leaving the Suju nightclub in Swindon in the early hours. Hundreds of volunteers turned out at Savernake Forest in Wiltshire to help in the search for her, but her body was discovered five days later at Uffington, in Oxfordshire.
