Weird and wonderful inventions on display

The treadmill-powered electric car set

The start of this weekend's Mini-Maker Fair in Brighton heralds the arrival of some of the weirdest and wonderful new inventions to be created.

There is the Scalextric powered by an exercise machine, the pencil with a pendulum, and a laptop with a marching band. The exhibition is part of Brighton's Digital Festival. Our reporter Andy Dickenson has been speaking to Mike Pountney the Inventor 'Skalexercise'; Samuel Wright the 'Harmonograph' maker; Sue Craig the map knitter; and Andrew Sleigh who organised the event.
