Final countdown to gold

Ashford's Lisa Dobriskey will be giving it her all when she takes to the track just before 9pm today in the 1500m final. Also in athletics, Maidstone's Jack Green will be competing as part of the Men's 4 x 400m Relay final, after his really strong run helped the team in qualifying.

The heats for the Men's and Women's 4 x 100m Relay final get under way with Dartford's Adam Gemili and in action for the men and Nicola Sanders from Windsor for the women.

Down in Weymouth, Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark are sure of at least a silver and will be hoping to go one better in the Women's 470 class, while sailing team mates Stuart Bithell and Luke Patience will be in action in the Men's 470 event. All racing was cancelled yesterday due to a lack of wind, but they should be underway around lunchtime.

At Eton Dorney this morning, Liam Heath from Maidenhead and Jonathan Schofield from Petersfield will be hoping they have enough paddle power to make progress in the Men's Kayak Double 200m, while the Isle of Wight's Richard Jefferies will be competing in the Men's Canoeing 200m. Jessica Walker from Brighton will be in the Women's Kayak Single 200m.

And Southampton's Pete Waterfield will be hoping for another shot at a medal when he dives in the qualifying rounds of the Men's 10m platform event. The final is tomorrow.

Finally, in the team sports, the Reading-based Women's Hockey team will be hoping they can clinch the bronze medal in their match against New Zealand which is due to start at 3.30pm. The men's team will have their bronze medal match tomorrow.
